ABOUT US

People, commitment, quality and innovation.

PROCAVI is an Andalusian agri-food company dedicated to the comprehensive production of turkey meat. Since our creation in 2002, we have continuously reinvested our profits in innovation, which has allowed us to become a technological benchmark in the sector, and today we are one of the most significant companies in Europe.

Procavi is integrated into the Grupo Fuertes holding, which consists of a powerful agri-food core and a set of diversified investments that guarantee its solidity and future.

We are leaders in the production of turkeys fattened in Spain, with a daily average production capacity of between 500 and 600 tonnes, allowing us to achieve a market share of over 52 percent, occupying fourth position in Europe and tenth internationally.

Exports are mainly destined for Europe, where we have sales offices in Portugal, France, Italy and Germany. Our products are also marketed in Eastern countries, such as Ukraine, and in sub-Saharan Africa, in Togo, Benin and Ghana, among other countries.

We have developed a comprehensive, productive and environmental management system for our business activity that includes the hatchery, feed factories, breeding centres, farms, quality control laboratory, meat processing and preparation centre, waste water treatment plant, a by-product utilisation plant and a co-generation plant that runs on natural gas. In addition, we are responsible for the marketing and distribution of our products.

At Procavi we have modern facilities consisting of four rearing and breeding centres in the provinces of Malaga and Seville, a comprehensive hatchery in Campillos (Malaga), 350 farms (approximately) for rearing and fattening the birds and a meat production centre located in Marchena (Seville). This way, we are able to control the entire production cycle needed to provide consumers with fully guaranteed meat.

Product Innovation

Since its beginnings in 2002, Procavi has been investing in innovation with the aim of becoming a sector reference with the most advanced technology. This has positioned Procavi as a European benchmark for turkey meat production companies. In recent years, the company has been immersed in an important expansion project of its production capacity, with financial investments in excess of 30 million euros.  Of this, 8 million euros has been invested in technology to improve competitiveness in the packaging and processing production processes.

Procavi is continuously working to improve its infrastructures with the aim of increasing production capacity, as well as improving competitiveness in the different processes. Highlights include the future Feed Factory in Sierra de Yeguas (Malaga), the expansion of the Grain Silos at the Carmona Feed Factory (Seville), technological improvements at the Meat Processing Centre in Marchena (Seville) and the new expansion phase of the Slaughtering and Meat Processing Capacity in Marchena (Seville).

Procavi carries out its business activity in conjunction with its defence of environmental values. A clear example of its commitment to sustainable development is its cutting-edge Meal and Fat Production Plant with a performance capacity of 175 tonnes per day, converting by-products into raw material for animal feed. It has recently opened a Photovoltaic Plant for Self-Consumption at the Hatchery in Campillos (Malaga), we have also built another Photovoltaic Plant for Self-Consumption at the Feed Factory in Villanueva de los Castillejos (Huelva).

Our turkeys are reared on 100% plant-based feed, rich in vitamins and minerals, ensuring the best conditions for their development from birth. That is why we are the first Spanish turkey meat brand to obtain the Welfair Animal Welfare certification. This certifies that the breeding of our turkeys complies with four basic principles in their animal welfare: good feed, adequate housing, good health and a correct emotional state.

With this achievement, the company has taken a crucial step towards guaranteeing animal welfare in all the turkey’s life cycles, also responding to society’s growing interest in these issues.
