The rearing and fattening process is divided into two phases.
The first, called rearing, is where the poults, which have been previously separated by sex, remain during their first 28-30 days of life, reaching an average weight of 1 kg. In this phase, we pay special attention to the temperature, humidity and light, which are ideal for the perfect development of the birds. At the end of this phase, the turkeys are transferred to the fattening centres where they will remain until they are transferred to the production centre.
We have a large family of collaborators who are responsible for performing the tasks of caring for the animals. At Procavi, in addition to supplying the turkeys and feed, we supervise and advise throughout the entire process through our own technical and veterinary team.
We have several of our own farms, designed and built with the most advanced materials and equipped with the most modern construction techniques. Highlights include the new closed facilities with a controlled environment where the animal is in an ideal habitat, to achieve more adequate yields and consumption; having fully automated ventilation, temperature, relative humidity, heating and many other values.
With all this care, tailor-made for each phase of the animal, we achieve the most ideal conditions during the turkey’s growth phase so that it can develop in an environment where the priority is its well-being and its hygienic and sanitary conditions.
